Skillsync is an AI-powered platform founded in 2025 by Narayana Aaditya Ganeshkumar (Nars) and Nishant Joshi that helps companies find elite engineers by analyzing open-source code contributions on GitHub rather than traditional resumes. Part of Y Combinator W26, Skillsync creates structured skill profiles of developers based on their GitHub activity and uses AI/ML to enable employers to search for candidates with specific capabilities using natural language queries. The platform reduces time-to-hire, improves quality of hires, automates recruitment tasks, and reduces bias through skills-first algorithms. Skillsync is particularly effective for specialized engineering domains where top talent may not maintain extensive LinkedIn profiles.
